Welcome to the Florida Writer. My name is Charles Asbury and after 21 years and seven months as a firefighter in the United States Air Force I am now retired. Although I miss putting on the uniform every morning and serving this great country, I'm ready to move on. I now teach for the Flagler County school system. When I'm not teaching, I continue to pursue my life-long dream of being a writer. I am a freelance writer and anxious to take on any writing assignment that I can. I always write with passion, a vision and plenty of substance. Something that will keep you interested from the beginning to the end. It shouldn't be any other way.
Although sports is my favorite topic, I can write on a variety of subjects including current events, local happenings, dining and restaurant reviews, entertainment reviews, hobbies and recreation, local travel(specifically smaller out of the way places worth checking out on a limited budget), human interest, newsletters for non-profit organizations, brochures, press releases and resumes just to name a few. I am also working on a novel called "Lake Kenyon". You can check out the preview on the future projects page.
I was raised in Florida from the age of two, and I'm a true Florida boy through and through! I know what Floridians are interested in and keep a constant pulse on current events and local news. My writing is instinctive, and my pen is the quickest in the south.
I can also set up a website and or a blog for your business or personal purposes. This ability alone can enhance your business prospects tremendously or act as another method of communication between family and friends.
I can provide previous articles that I have written so that you can sample my work, or provide references if requested. My passion is writing, and I always give 110% to each and every assignment. If given the chance, I promise that you won't be disappointed. I won't quit until you are satisfied. Enjoy the website and expect nothing less if you hire me!
Thank you for any consideration,
Charles J Asbury II

"The Chuck & Cody Sports Report"
"The Florida Writer" is proud to announce the "Chuck and Cody Sports Report" hosted by Chuck and Cody Asbury. The show will air live every Saturday morning from 10:00-10:30 am on WNZF (106.3 FM and 1550 AM) starting on 21 Feb. The show is a father and son production, broken down into four quarters of smoking sports news from the local, state, and national level. The fourth quarter is a special segment called, "Breaking The Code" This is when listeners can call in and ask Cody(age 15) sports trivia questions from either Football, Baseball, Basketball, or Nascar. All trivia questions must have happened historically after December 1993, when Cody was born. If Cody is unable to answer the question, and "The Code" is broken, then the caller receives a free gift, compliments of the "C & C Sports Report." "Overtime" is a two minute scramble when Cody answers fan mail, and/or Chuck reads a sports editorial to close out the show. The radio station website can be found at www.wnzf.com. All shows can be listened to worldwide using the live streaming audio on wnzf.com. WNZF is Flagler County's very own 24 hour news radio station, and currently has approximately 17,000 listeners.
For now, Chuck and Cody are busy in the studio, doing promos, photo shoots, and other sponsor related activities.
Any people and/or businesses interested in sponsoring the show, can contact Chuck at cja@flawriter.com

Gators Salivate for Cute Alabama Elephant
Another Saturday comes and goes bringing us closer to the ultimate college football showdown. On Dec 6th college football fans will witness the greatest game of the entire year when Florida meets Alabama in the SEC Championship. The winner of that game should be instantly assured an invitation to play in the Orange Bowl for the National Championship. The Gators once again annihilated their opponent Saturday by a score of 56-6, while Alabama looked like a Pop Warner team against a 3-7 Miss State team. Bama better watch out or they just might get surprised by the Auburn Tigers on Nov. 29th. But I hope not, because like all Gator fans, I want them undefeated and ranked #1 in the nation. Just saving all that treasure for the hungry Gators to snatch away on Dec 6th. A victory as a minimum will put the Gators in second place nationally and playing for their third national championship. Go Gators!!!
